A vehicle is a hostile place for a computer.

Constant vibration, knocks, temperature swings, dust, and a power supply that cuts in and out with the engine it is everything a standard PC is not designed to survive. The FM-15MIV is designed for exactly this, from the power input to the way it is cooled.

THE KEY FEATURE


Intelligent ignition control, so the battery stays alive.

The single most important feature of an in-vehicle computer is how it handles power. Leave a PC running when the engine is off and it drains the battery. Cut its power the instant the engine stops and you risk corrupting data mid-write.

The FM-15MIV solves both. It senses the vehicle’s ignition and powers up and down with it on a delay you control so it is ready when the vehicle is working and shuts down cleanly when it is not.

The computer senses the vehicle’s ignition and powers up or shuts down with it, on a timed delay you can set. It means the PC is ready when the vehicle is in use and powers down cleanly afterwards, rather than being left on to flatten the battery or switched off abruptly.

Yes. It is built for the movement and knocks of automotive use there are no moving parts inside, so there is no fan or spinning drive to be shaken loose or worn out by vibration.

It is built for mobile connectivity: a SIM slot for mobile data and Wi-Fi for when the vehicle is in range, so the unit can report and be reached while the vehicle is out on the road.

It is dust-protected and handles condensation and the odd drip, which suits enclosed and semi-exposed vehicle mounting. It is not sealed against water jets or heavy rain, so for fully exposed outdoor fixing ask us about the sealed waterproof range.
